What type of internet connection do I need?

Any type of broadband connection will do. This includes cable modem, DSL and any other form of high-speed connection. The only type of internet connection that will not work is a dial-up modem.

Do I need any special hardware or software?

Homemanageables provides everything you need in our Starter Kit. All you need to start is a PC running Windows® XP or Windows Vista® with 1GB RAM, 60MB of available hard drive space, an available USB port and a connection to the internet. Anyone can easily install the system.

Do I need to pre-wire my house to use Homemanageables?

Our products are fully wireless so no pre-wiring of any kind is needed.

Can I use Homemanageables to safeguard my home while I'm away?

Yes. For example, while you are away you can have the Homemanageables system randomly turn on and off lights between certain pre-defined hours. Please note that the Homemanageables Starter Kit is NOT intended for use as a security system. It can, however, complement a security system. Any use of the Homemanageables system for security purposes is at the user’s risk.

Do I need to purchase a subscription to use the service?

With our Starter Kit, we offer a free 30 day trial to our remote access service that allows you to remotely control and monitor your home and look after your loved ones. From anywhere in the world. 24/7. All this via a web-enabled device and our groundbreaking toll-free voice command system. After the initial 30 day free trial there will be a minimal monthly fee for our remote access service.

Do I need to be concerned about someone hacking into my Homemanageables system?

We provide the utmost level of security to our valued customers. The first question we always ask is whether we would feel comfortable using the service ourselves (which we all do by the way). Our service provides a minimum of four different layers of security at any one time.

Is Homemanageables' system easy to install?

Homemanageables is so easy to install that anyone can do it. This affordable, secure remote home management system comes with a quick start manual to help guide you through the quick and easy setup. And installation takes less than 30 minutes.

1. First, install the Homemanageables software onto your computer.
2. Next, insert the Homemanageables USB stick and plug in the provided modules for your lights and appliances.
3. Finally, log into www.homemanageables.com, and you’re ready to monitor and control your home.

Is it easy to use?

If our moms can use the system, believe us, anyone can use the system. We provide an intuitive interface that's simple to use. Of course, for our users who want a little more "hand-holding" we provide detailed video instructions on our website so you can see how to install and use every function in the system.

Do I need a special mobile phone to access the system?

This is an easy one to answer: No. You can either fire up your internet browser, if your cell phone has one, OR use our groundbreaking voice command system which is easily accessible via a toll-free number. In fact, with our toll-free voice command system, you can use a landline or a hands-free mobile phone device. This will literally allow you to talk to your home, telling it what to do or having it give you answers to your questions about your home.

Do I always need to log in to know if an event (e.g., kids come home from school, someone tampers with the thermostats, etc.) occurred?

Absolutely not. Our system can be easily programmed to send you an email or text message to your cell phone or email program when any of these events occur.

How can I make Homemanageables work with my thermostats on my heating and cooling systems?

We are developing a state-of-the-art touch panel thermostat that will be available in the near future. This will be a fully "smart" thermostat that is remotely accessible from anywhere in the world, allowing you to see the temperature in your house and adjust your thermostat accordingly. Check back soon for product availability.

At this time, we fully support all Z-Wave thermostats currently on the market.
